Up to 35 different species of spiders and snakes will be on display each day, including exotic tarantulas, rattlesnakes, cobras, and a mamba.
Rob Carmichael, Curator and Director of the Wildlife Discovery Center will present his "The Grass Is Rattling" interactive display. Rob is an Adjunct Faculty member of the College of Lake County's Biological Sciences Division where he teaches Environmental Biology. Carmichael has appeared on several popular television programs including Animal Planet's Backyard Habitat and the CBS Morning Show. Arachnid hobbyists Art and Kathleen Schamne will be on hand to talk about their favorite subject, spiders, and present demonstrations.
Other activities include hands-on activity stations, display of various bio-artifacts, informational guides available along with giveaways.

Sea, Sand, Surf
Learn about our oceans and make an ocean bottle to take home. If you listen closely you'll hear some waves! Ages 5+. Pre-registration required. $12 each. This class is part of the Summer Programs schedule. Museum admission included in class fee.
